-----------------------

As a special cloud computing platform, Connected Vehicular Cloud Computing (CVCC), which seamlessly combines cloud computing and VANETs, has been recently proposed to accelerate the adoption of VANETs, and extended the traditional cloud infrastructure consisting of a majority of stationary nodes to the edge of vehicles. CVCC is a mobile computing paradigm, which consists of in-motion vehicles cooperating with each other to achieve a bunch of practical applications, such as collaborative package delivery and information dissemination. Essentially, CVCC coordinates the computing, communication, sensing, and storage resources of the vehicles on the road to balance the service requirements and the hardware limitation.

This special issue covers the most recent research results that address security and privacy issues of CVCC. We solicit papers covering various topics of interest that include, but not limited to the following:

- Encrypted search in Connected Vehicular Cloud Computing

- Secure outsourcing computing in Connected Vehicular Cloud Computing

- Secure data storage in Connected Vehicular Cloud Computing

- Access control and anonymization in Connected Vehicular Cloud Computing

- Authentication and authorization in Connected Vehicular Cloud Computing

- Data provenance in Connected Vehicular Cloud Computing

- Integrity verification in Connected Vehicular Cloud Computing

- Real-time security monitoring in Connected Vehicular Cloud Computing

- Useable security in Connected Vehicular Cloud Computing

- Implementation and testbed for secure Connected Vehicular Cloud Computing

1.Applications and use cases

- data-intensive analytics and graph processing

- financial, medical, and transportation scenarios

2.Systems software stack

- operating systems

- virtual machines (VMs), containers, unikernels and microservices

- persistency libraries and inter-process communication (IPC) stacks

3.Architecture

- memory/storage architectures

- switches, routers, and software-defined networking

- accelerators

4.Technologies

- nonvolatile memory

- photonic interconnects

- system on a chip

5.Characteristics

- security

- reliability (such as erasure coding)

- scale and performance

4. IEEE MultiMedia

期刊:IEEE MultiMedia

专刊:5G Multimedia Communications: Theory, Technology, and Application

领域:计算机图形学与多媒体

难度:★★★

影响因子:1.361

网址:https://www.computer.org/multimedia-magazine/

-----------------------

As multimedia systems, services, and applications increasingly become a part of daily life, researchers are exploring 5th-generation wireless communication networks on many fronts. 5G networks must accommodate higher mobile data volumes, user data rates, and numbers of connected devices, and at the same time offer lower end-to-end latency. New theories and technologies are producing diverse multimedia applications, including services for surveillance, entertainment and social media, voice and video, medical imaging, business transactions, and Internet-of-Things-based streams. Traditional multimedia communications and processing schemes can't effectively compress, encode, transmit, process, synchronize, store, and mine all of this multimedia information, so there's a growing demand for developing and designing theories, technologies, and applications for 5G multimedia communications.

This special issue solicits state-of-the-art approaches and technical solutions in the area of 5G multimedia communications. The issue will provide a compelling forum for researchers and practitioners to present their results. Original contributions (not under review by another journal) are solicited in relevant areas, including

- architectures for 5G multimedia communications,

- end-to-end QoE support for wireless and mobile communications,

- security and privacy in 5G multimedia communications,

- multimedia delivery over 5G wireless networks,

- compressing and coding multimedia data in the 5G environment,

- parallel and distributed computing for multimedia over 5G wireless networks, and

- novel and interesting applications in 5G multimedia communications.
