能让你变强大，却难以接受的事

Life is unpredictable.

生活是无法预测的。

One of my best friends passed away from cancer and he was only a few years older than me. He seemed like he was in perfect health. 

我一个好朋友因癌症去世了，他仅仅大我几岁。那时候他看起来身体很健康。

Another family friend of mine died in a car accident. He was extremely frugal most of his life and didn't get the chance to enjoy his planned retirement.

我的一个世交死于车祸。他生前大部分时间都很节俭，如今已没有机会享受早已规划好的退休生活了。

I met my girlfriend (whom I love very much) at a conference in Spain. I live in California. I've been flying there every two months to see her.

我在西班牙开研讨会的时候遇见了我的女友，我很爱她。因为我住在加利福尼亚，所以我每两个月飞去见她一次。

I always thought I would be an actor growing up. I worked in business development for a startup now. And I love it.

我总是以为我长大后会成为一名演员。现在我在一家初创公司做业务发展。我热爱这份工作。

I wrote a few books, only had one that was successful and subsequently thought I would walk away from writing. Instead, I decided to do it again because at the end of the day, I realized I loved motivate people.

我写过几本书，但只有一本书获得成功，那时我想我会停止写作。但是相反，我决定再次提笔，因为我意识到我喜欢通过写作给人动力。

I made 14 iPhone apps as a side project and 4 of them hit the top 100 in different categories. Never saw that one coming.

What did these experiences teach me?

That life is not some linear equation, no matter how much you plan it out in advance.

那就是生活不像线性方程，不管你前期计划多么完美，总会有意外。

It's gray, it's a bunch of zig zag lines and it's messy.

生活是灰色的，满是荆棘曲折，并且乱糟糟。

And that's okay. Embrace it. Always be ready for change.

但没关系，拥抱生活，为改变做好准备。
