当一个苹果掉到地上时，它不会离树太远。
But what does it mean if you say that about a person? Let's listen.

Did you get a chance to meet Shelly's mom while she was in town?

The two look like they could be sisters.

If the apple does not fall far from the tree, it means two people are very similar.
如果苹果掉下离树不远，就是指两个人很相似。
It means a son, or a daughter, seems very similar to a parent.
意思就是说儿子或女儿，看起来很像父母。
If a friend has many of the same qualities as one of his or her parents, you can say,
如果你的一个朋友有很多和他/她的父母相似的地方，你可以说:
"Wow! The apple sure didn't fall far from the tree."
“喔，真是有其父必有其子啊。”
