What is an example of something you think is beautiful?

I was having a conversation with my Dad about his recent promotion.
Me: So how do you feel about being in charge of more people?
Dad: *Ponders for a moment* I guess the extra money is helpful.
Me: What, you don’t enjoy being a leader?
Dad: I do. But I dislike being in charge of people. Being in charge meant that people had to listen to me solely because of my position. Being a leader meant that people willingly listen to me because I inspire them. I may be in charge of more people now but I lead the exact same people as I did a week ago. Hopefully this will change in a couple of months.
*A few seconds of silence*
Dad: Being a leader is also more difficult.
Me: I guess so…
Dad: No, not in the way you’re thinking. When you are leading a team of new employees, they will inevitably leave first impressions on you. Some of them good, some bad. People naturally form biases in their minds based on these impressions. The person who left a good first impression will appear superior in whatever he does subsequently, compared to the guy who left a bad one. My job, as a leader, is to notice more of the weaknesses of employees I like and the strengths of employees I dislike.
Great leadership is beautiful.
