What's astonishing is that pandas CAN eat anything, but pandas in the wild choose to eat bamboo pretty much exclusively. 令人吃惊的是，熊猫能吃任何一种食物，只是在野外的熊猫往往选择吃竹子。（在动物园会吃竹子，也吃麦片和水果）

Giant pandas will occasionally eat meat when offered it, but they are unskilled predators ['predətə(r)]掠食者.
Pandas are so linked with the bamboo diet that they were actually named for it. "Panda" most likely is derived from a Nepalese [ˌnepə'li:z] 尼泊尔语word that means "bamboo-eater." 吃竹子者 But the Chinese call the Panda "Xiongmao" or "Giant Cat Bear."
This preference is unfortunate for many reasons.
