Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday arrived in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) for celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of the city's return to China.

Xi will be in Hong Kong from Thursday to Saturday. During his trip, he will also attend the inauguration of new chief executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor and her cabinet, which will take place at the anniversary ceremony.
