ORGANIZER & INTRODUCTION

Advanced Training Program for Young Diplomatic Talents from Belt and Road Countries (the “Program”) is sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and organized by School of International Relations and Public Affairs (“SIRPA”), Fudan University.

The Program, initiated by Shanghai Municipal Government, aims to promote mutual understanding among young diplomatic talents from Belt and Road countries. Themed by Consensus, Co-prosperity and Sharing , the Program is functioned as a platform for participants to learn and discuss China’s global roles and the future of global governance. The Program introduces political, economic, social, cultural and ecological developments of China, analyzes China's new diplomatic perspectives and policies, discusses Belt and Road Initiative, regional cooperation and governance reforms. Participants are expected to have a better understanding of Chinese diplomacy and Belt and Road Initiative in the Program.

CURRICULUM

The curriculum is comprised of five modules: Chinese Governance System, Chinese Economic and Social Development Strategy, Chinese Diplomacy and Construction of a Community with a Shared Future, National Conditions of Belt and Road Countries, and Inheritance and Modernization of Chinese Culture . The Program takes the form of lectures, seminars and workshops. Leading experts, senior diplomats and practical specialists may be invited. The working language of the Program is English .

APPLICATION

1. QUALIFICATION

Young talents from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, including but not limited to those signed MOUs with China. General interest and educational background in international politics is a must, and work experience in diplomacy is preferred in consideration. Applicants should be under the age of 40.

Enrollment: 20 participants

Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email by May 7th, 2024

3. FINANCIAL SUPPORT

All participants will be waived the program tuition fee supported by Shanghai Government Scholarship.

Accommodation & Transportation fee:

Certain subsidies will be provided for around 10 selected best candidates; other candidates shall cover the accommodation and transportation fee by themselves.

A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants with full attendance and good performance.
