5月31日-6月30日，乔纳斯·梅卡斯中国首展“继续歌唱Keep Singing”在深圳华侨城创意文化园的大乾艺术空间开展！

2019年1月23日，传奇影人、美国先锋电影教父乔纳斯·梅卡斯（Jonas Mekas）在纽约去世。一个月后的2月23日，巴黎电影画廊（The Film Gallery）——全世界唯一一家只推广实验电影的画廊，精心准备了以“继续歌唱Keep Singing”为主题的展览，来纪念乔纳斯·梅卡斯。展览由梅卡斯的好友、实验电影推广和发行公司Re:voir创始人派普·乔多罗夫（Pip Chodorov）策展， 参展的都是梅卡斯的朋友，来自各个领域的艺术家，用各自的方式来纪念梅卡斯。

在巴黎展览的基础上，本次在大乾艺术空间的展览将增加展出梅卡斯历年的六帧放大的“冻结的胶片画面 ”，以及梅卡斯拍摄纽约艺术圈朋友们的系列日记电影《60年代四重奏》。 从60年代到90年代，安迪·沃霍尔（Andy Warhol）、约翰·列侬（John Lennon）、小野洋子（Yoko Ono）等时代先锋都以亲密的朋友姿态出现在镜头中。

本次展览也是梅卡斯作品在中国的首场纪念展。5月31日晚上 19:30—21:30 ，梅卡斯的电影作品《从一个快乐男人的生活中剪下不用的片段》（ Out-Takes from the Life of a Happy Man）， 将在深圳万象天地的百老汇电影中心bc+中国首映，仅此一场。

策展人介绍

派普·乔多罗夫（ Pip Chodorov），实验电影作者、实验电影策展人。

六岁开始玩胶片，在罗彻斯特大学学习认知科学，后又到巴黎师从克里斯蒂安·麦茨（Christian Metz）学习电影符号学，经过纽约Orion Classics发行公司和法国著名院线公司UGC及巴黎光锥实验电影发行合作社的历练，Pip Chodorov最后选择“小众”的实验电影方向。作为实验电影作者，他的影片曾被选入多个电影节，展映于博物馆之间。Pip Chodorov在拍摄实验影片的同时，以商业电影公司的经验推广实验电影，一手创办了在实验电影领域有举足轻重地位的巴黎实验电影出版社Re:Voir Video (www.re-voir.com)和The Film Gallery (film-gallery.org)——全世界唯一一家致力于实验电影的画廊。他亦是巴黎电影胶片实验室L'Abominable的联合创办人之一，同时也是实验电影网络论坛FrameWorks的主持人。目前在韩国首尔东国大学教授电影，与韩国的电影节、艺术机构及博物馆有密切合作。

策展人语

乔纳斯·梅卡斯是一位伟大的朋友，他把友谊看得比什么都重要。乔纳斯为他的朋友们拍电影，拍的也是关于朋友的事，还常常将自己的展览献给朋友们。因此我们可以这样说，从乔纳斯多产的电影创作，到他的写作和组织各类放映， 再到创立“电影人合作社”（Filmmakers Cooperative）和“文选电影资料馆”（Anthology Film Archives），他一生的工作都由自己的友谊所定义。

尽管我和乔纳斯住在不同的大洲，但是每年我都会拜访他好几次。2019年1月23日，96岁的乔纳斯与世长辞。就在他去世的两周前，我还在纽约见了他最后两面。

当我们听闻他逝世消息的那个夜晚，大家都相聚在巴黎。他在世界各地的朋友们则在网络上聚集，彼此交换信息，发布照片或是电影来纪念他。而我当即决定举办一场展览。

展览于2月23日在巴黎开幕，当时距乔纳斯去世整整一个月，这既是致敬也是悼念。 这是一场纪念乔纳斯的展览，由他的朋友们筹备，同时也是为他的朋友们而办。这是朋友们共同的展览。

三个月后展览被邀请在深圳举办。这是乔纳斯的作品在中国的首次展出。乔纳斯认为中国很重要，曾很想来中国看一看。 他的儿子曾在北京和上海待过几年，能说流利的中文。现在，大乾艺术空间开启了乔纳斯中国首展，中国美院跨媒体艺术学院影像与档案研究中心也于近日正式成立，我们希望更多类似的展览可以被组织起来，更多的中国人可以去了解乔纳斯的作品。

“继续歌唱”和“继续前进”是乔纳斯常用的表达：生活仍在继续。乔纳斯的艺术在他的工作中得到了延续。他记录下了每日发生的一切。从1958年到2018年，他一直在用电影记日记。如果你曾是乔纳斯的朋友，那你一定在他的电影中出现过。2012年12月，在乔纳斯90周岁生日之际，他和朋友们在伦敦举办了一场音乐会，“继续歌唱”正是这场音乐会的名称。 以其作为这场展览的标题也相当合适，正如乔纳斯留给我们的启示：继续下去。

Jonas Mekas was a great friend, and he valued friendship more than anything. He made films for and about his friends, and his gallery exhibitions were often dedicated to his friends. One could say that his life’s work was defined by his friendships, from his prolific filmmaking to his writing and programming, to the founding of the Filmmakers Cooperative, or the Anthology Film Archives.

I visited with Jonas several times a year even though we lived on different continents, and I spent time with him in New York two weeks before his death on January 23, 2019 at the age of 96.

The night we learned of his death, friends gathered in Paris. All over the world his friends gathered, exchanged messages on the Internet, posted pictures or films to remember him. I decided to host a gallery show.

This show, which opened one month later on February 23rd, was an homage, a tribute. It was a show to remember Jonas, by his friends and for his friends. A friends show. Three months later the exhibition was invited here in Shenzhen. This is the first exhibition of Jonas’ works in China. Jonas felt China was important and he hoped to visit. His son spent several years in Beijing and Shanghai and speaks the language. Now that the Archive and Research Center of Moving Image has been founded and that Daken Art Center has invited this exhibition to China, we hope more shows can be organized and more Chinese may get to know Jonas’ works.

“Keep Singing” and “Keep Going” were expressions Jonas used often: life goes on. Jonas’ art was in the continuity of his work. He recorded everything, every day. He kept a film diary from 1950 to 2018. If you were a friend of Jonas, you were in his film. “Keep Singing” was the title of a concert he made with his friends in London in December 2012 on the occasion of his 90th birthday. “Keep Singing” seemed like a good title for this show, as a message Jonas leaves with us, to carry on.
