Funeral Blues
漫天哀伤中的思念

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
停下所有的时钟，切断电话
用一块流汁的骨头堵住狗的嘴巴
让息声的钢琴陪伴缄默的鼓
抬出灵柩吧，让哀悼的人们进入

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message “He is Dead.”
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
让一架架飞机在头顶上盘旋悲泣
在空中草草写下他已逝去的讯息
把纱领结在街头鸽子的脖颈上系好
让交通警察们戴上黑色的棉质手套

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,

节目简介

.H.奥登(Wystan Hugh Auden, 1907-1973)是公认的现代诗坛名家，奥登1907年出生在英国，1946年成为美国公民。他充分利用英美两国的历史传统，作品的内涵因而更深广。“奥登”（Audun）曾在冰岛的传奇故事中出现过，而奥登的写作，尤其是诗歌的写作技巧，深受北欧主要诗歌派别的影响，被公认为艾略特之后最重要的英语诗人，也是著名的同性恋者。他46岁的时候开始和18岁的诗人Chester Kallman相恋，1973年奥登在维也纳死于心脏病。
