Michael Bloomberg（迈克尔·布隆伯格）是前美国纽约市市长（在2001年参选并于2002年1月就职美国纽约市长，且连任三届），同时他也是布隆伯格新闻公司（彭博新闻社）的创始人。
布隆伯格的经历非常丰富，他从哈佛大学商学院MBA毕业后，加入了Salomon Brothers（所罗门兄弟公司），第六年就晋升为合伙人，后因卷入公司内部纷争被扫地出门。之后创立了布隆伯格新闻公司，也就是为业内人士熟知的彭博新闻社。掌控着全世界最重要财经讯息的流动。
在2008年美国总统选举中，他自费10亿美元参选，成为除来自民主党与共和党的候选人外，彻底搅动大选行情的第三派力量。2016年10月，迈克尔·布隆伯格位列《福布斯》杂志2016年度“美国400富豪榜”第六位。
