Grasshopper sings in the sun.

一只蚂蚱正在阳光下歌着唱。

Ant works.

而一只蚂蚁却在辛勤的工作。

"Play with me," says Grasshopper.

"I can't," says Ant.

蚂蚱说：“跟我玩一会儿吧。”

蚂蚁说： “我不能跟你玩，我得工作。”

"But It's summer!"

"I need food for the winter."

蚂蚱说：“可现在是夏天，食物多得吃不完。”

蚂蚁说：“我需要准备过冬的食物。”

"Winter will come," says Ant. "And you will be hungry."

蚂蚁说：“冬天就快来了，到时候 你会饿的。”

Grasshopper laughs and sings. Ant carries more corn.

蚂蚱不以为然，继续笑着、唱着。 蚂蚁则搬运着更多的玉米。

Winter comes.

冬天来了。

Grasshopper is cold... and very hungry.

蚂蚱很冷... 也很饿。

"Come inside," says Ant.

"Thank you," says Grasshopper.

蚂蚁说：“快进来，到我家来吃点东西吧。”

蚂蚱说：“谢谢你。”

"Next summer I'll work too."

“ 明年夏天我也要辛勤地工作，准备过冬的食物。 ”
