AIMS AND SCOPE
-----------------------------
Over the last years, wireless communication networks have faced
ever-increasing traffic demands beyond the available capacity, a problem
that is expected to worsen in the foreseeable future with the requirement
for high data-rate, enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) services and the
advent of a myriad of machine-type devices interconnected through the
Internet of Things (IoT) for massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC).
In order to cope with the forecasted traffic loads, an essential requirement
for future wireless communication systems beyond 5G is efficient, flexible
and dynamic spectrum utilization. Smart spectrum exploitation techniques
have been developed for WRANs in TV white spaces, LTE-LAA mobile networks
in ISM bands, CBRS radar systems, and cognitive satellite communications,
to mention just a few examples. Spectrum sharing and on-demand spectrum
assignment are very hot topics for innovative and sustainable future wireless
world and continues to be an active field of research in the academic and
industrial communities as well as in spectrum regulation activities.
The International Workshop on Smart Spectrum 2021 aims to bring together
academic researchers and industry practitioners as well as members of
standardization bodies and government to meet and exchange ideas on recent
research and future directions for smart spectrum utilization. This workshop
aims to stimulate discussion and generation of innovative ideas for smart
spectrum exploitation.

TOPICS OF INTEREST
---------------------------------
The topics of the workshop include, but are not limited to:
- Smart spectrum solutions for eMBB and mMTC/IoT in 5G networks.
- Carrier aggregation and spectrum sharing for both sub-6GHz and mmWave spectrum.
- Spectrum sensing, statistical modeling and field measurements.
- Radio propagation modelling for spectrum sharing.
- Sensor networks for smart spectrum awareness.
- Interference management and avoidance techniques.
- PHY/MAC layer techniques for enhanced spectrum exploitation (MIMO, full-duplex, NOMA, etc.).
- Machine learning, deep learning and other AI techniques for smart spectrum.
- Practical applications and use cases of smart spectrum exploitation in modern systems.
- Field experiments and practical/prototype implementations.
- Regulatory framework and activities for smart spectrum exploitation.

This Book proposes and investigates the impact of Post COVID Opportunities and Challenges by Understanding the Dynamics of New Normal for Supply Chain with the global procurement of supply chain management and its exposure to potential gaps and vulnerabilities. Also, every nation tries to get back into action by taking active measures within a short period through the aftermath of the pandemics. To effectively address this concern, especially in the trait of global supply chain management, it is now becoming the time to change regulatory frameworks that drives the global economy. The supply chain after the pandemics is not sustainable, and it may subject to numerous transformations. Every entity in the context of the supply chain may experience severe regulatory changes as implementing standard sanitization protocols, enhancing transportation facilities, exploring the innovations in product development & distribution strategies by meeting with demands of human resources are highly crucial. These consequences would not only result in increased management costs but also inhibits the overall growth rate of an organization. Hence, it is a sure thing that the post-COVID situation may result in enormous change across the supply chain environment, ranges from planning to execution measures. This book chapter aims to explore various dynamics of the new normal concerning supply chain management for the post-COVID situation. It also addresses as a stimulant for the industries to re-frame their possible strategies on supply chain management. Meanwhile, it requires immediate actions to respond to the unplanned challenges both from an organization as well as the end-user point of view. Hence, with an exploration of the new normal of the supply chain, this book reduces the risk of lesser marginal profits, disrupted supply chain management, and potential points of business failure. Which potentially empowers business firms with sustainable developments and enhancements. Further, this book follows the didactic approach through which it instructs the global enterprises to deal with the most significant insights on future supply chain with a more in-depth analysis of post-COVID opportunities and challenges. Enabling the firms to be aware of the economic transformation and sustainability both in the present as well as the future. It acts as an initiative to the readers so that they efficiently understand the risks, opportunities, and challenges concerning the pandemic situation and act as a key driver to industry professionals and enterprise firms in business management.
