Every year around May the 5th, Chinese people welcome in the first summer solar term, the Beginning of Summer. Traditions include eating a meal with freshly harvested rice, checking your weight and giving each other black rice with blessings for another year.

每年5月5日左右，中国人迎来了第一个夏季节气——立夏。传统习俗里包括品尝用新鲜收获的大米做成的米饭，称称体重，互相赠送乌米饭，都是为了保佑新一年平安。
