It is hard for children to pay attention to their studies nowadays. I think there are two reasons leading to this phenomenon, and parents and teachers can help solve this problem.

Teachers hold the view that students who perform well are able to find good jobs in the future and as a result, they tend to require students to finish a large amount of homework and to do self-study even after school.

Another reason is that because of the development of technology, children now have easy access to the internet. Students who are addicted to play online games and watch TV programmes may think studying at school is boring, and therefore, they cannot pay attention to their studies.

For example, when students make a mistake, teachers and parents tend to encourage them and help them find the reason to avoid making the same mistake instead of punishing them. As a result, students, especially those who are shy, may have confidence in studying and are willing to spend time on their studies.
