Our latest review looks at the performance of China's insurance industry in 2016 by analysing the financial data of seven major Chinese listed insurers. The report is intended to offer insights on the current Chinese insurance market and coming trends.

The Chinese insurance industry recorded another year of rapid growth in 2016 with a 27.5% increase in written premiums compared to the previous year. Yet, the weakened capital markets led to weaker year-end results for the majority of the listed insurance companies.
