编者按： 中国崛起与西方衰落是近年来国内外热议乃至争论的话题，这一现象对于中国与美国、欧洲，乃至整个西方的经贸、安全、地缘政治关系都存在巨大的影响力。“东升西降”对国际秩序的潜在变革也被全球南方在内的世界各国高度关注。 前英国剑桥大学政治与国际关系高级研究员、英国著名中国问题专家马丁·雅克（Martin Jacques） 将出席中国人民大学主办的 “‘中国式现代化与世界未来’明德战略对话（2024）——国际战略学术界走进中国” 活动。 9月5日，中国人民大学重阳金融研究院 “区域国别论坛” ，将邀请他以 “中国崛起的向心力和西方衰落的离心力” 主题进行演讲。现将讲座安排如下。文末附报名通道可报名线下参会。

前英国剑桥大学政治与国际关系高级研究员

嘉宾简介

马丁·雅克是英国知名的左派记者、作家、政治评论家和中国研究学者。曾长期担任英国共产党刊物《今日马克思主义》的编辑，成功将刊物影响力从党内扩张至整个英国政坛。2009年，出版著作《当中国统治世界：中国的崛起和西方世界的衰落》。曾在京都立命馆大学、中国人民大学、新加坡国立大学任教，创办英国智库Demos，亦有丰富的新闻从业经历，做过《泰晤士报》、《星期日泰晤士报》、《卫报》和《新政治家》的专栏作家，以及《独立报》副总编辑，为BBC撰写和主持过多次电视节目。

"Centripetalism and Centrifugalism: the Rise of China and the Decline of the West"

The rise of China and the decline of the West have been hotly discussed and even debated domestically and internationally in recent years, and this phenomenon has a huge impact on China's economic, trade, security, and geo-political relations with the United States, Europe, and even the West as a whole. The potential changes to the international order as a result of the “rise of the East and the fall of the West” have also been of great interest to countries around the world, including the Global South. To this end, sponsored by Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China, the China-US People-to-People Exchange Research Center, Renmin University of China, organizes a series of Area Studies lectures, inviting Mr. Martin Jacques, a renowned British scholar, former Senior Fellow of Department of Politics and International Studies, Cambridge University, to deliver a keynote speech to share his perspectives on the impact of China’s rise on the current world situation, trends of Sino-Western relations and changes in relative power.
