Turkish mills are heard to have increasedtheir rebar quotes significantly in both the domestic and export markets,following the sharp increases seen in scrap prices.

土耳其螺纹钢市场受到废钢价格上涨和里拉贬值的推动。由于这两个因素，螺纹钢需求和价格都有所上升。同时，由于钢厂关闭，供应趋紧也支撑了螺纹钢价格。

Increasing scrap prices and thedepreciation of the lira are driving the rebar market in Turkey. Rebar demandand prices have increased as a result of these two factors, with prices alsosupported by tightening supply due to mill closures.

土耳其国内螺纹钢价格几天前还在 2,960-3,020 里亚尔 / 吨，现在为 3,140-3,200 里亚尔 / 吨，含增值税出厂价，因地区而异。周二，里拉兑美元汇率为 1 美元兑 6.76 里拉，上述价格相当于 393-401 美元 / 吨，不含税出厂价，高于 4 月 2 日的 376-384 美元 / 吨。

Domestic rebar prices, which stood at TRY2,960-3,020/tonne only a few days ago, now stand at TRY 3,140-3,200/t ex-works,including VAT, depending on the region. With the lira at 6.76 per dollar onTuesday, these prices translate to $393-401/t ex-works, excluding VAT, up from$376-384/t on 2 April.

Although the market is registeringincreased Turkish rebar demand, it is not expected to last long. Once immediatedemand requirements are met and Ramadan begins on 23 April, demand is expectedto slow again. If anti-coronavirus measures are tightened, demand may slow evenearlier, Kallanish notes.

Export demand has also increased slightlyas a result of the sharp increases seen in Turkish scrap prices. Although lessstrong compared to the domestic market, export demand is seen to have improvedin Yemen, Africa and the EU.

Turkish mills’ rebar quotes, which stood at$380-390/t fob on 2 April, have risen to $410-415/t fob actual weight. Someproducers refrained from declaring prices on Tuesday as they were waiting tosee at what price scrap settles.
