上海科技大学物质科学与技术学院将于2017年6月21日至2017年6月23日在上海科技大学举办“2017年上海科技大学物质科学前沿论坛”（英文名称：“Shanghai Tech Advances in Research (STAR) Symposium”），进一步促进国际合作和人际交流，以打造国际专业化高水平、高质量的科研学术论坛。
此次学术论坛由杨培东教授组织，以“能源,材料,环境”为主题，邀请了10多名来自国内外顶级大学、研究机构的科学家参会，其中包括材料领域的领军人物Galen Stucky, Michael Graetzel, Omar Yaghi, Jeffrey R. Long, Chen Gang, Xiaoyang Zhu, Jean-Marie Tarascon, Yang Yang, Cui Yi, Rod Rouff教授等,他们将为参会者展示最新的科研成果和科研动态。
此次会议将为中外科学工作者提供一个广泛的相互了解和交流互动的学术平台，对我国材料研究领域具有积极的推动作用。

ShanghaiTech Advances in Research (STAR) Symposium
The ShanghaiTech University and its School of Physical Sciences and Technology (SPST) are pleased to announce STAR (Shanghai Tech Advances in Research)symposium 2017, to be held on the June 21-23 2017. The purpose of STAR 2017is to promote and support scientific exchange and relationships between ShanghaiTech and the greater international community. The format will be a single stream of elite-level, international plenary lectures. The topic of STAR 2017 will focus on Energy, Materials, and Environment Science. Plenary presentations from leading international names across the fields will provide a broad perspective on current research and educational developments as well as point to future challenges and opportunities for innovation.A highly interactive poster session will be planned in the first day of program.
