Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker NIO delivered 13,863 vehicles in January 2025, representing an increase of 37.9% year-over-year, according to its announcement issued on the first day of February.
The monthly deliveries consisted of 7,951 vehicles from the company's premium smart electric vehicle brand NIO, and 5,912 vehicles from the company's family-oriented smart electric vehicle brand ONVO.
As of January 31, 2025, NIO's cumulative deliveries had amounted to 685,427 vehicles.

For the full year of 2024, NIO delivered 221,970 vehicles in total, a 38.7% jump compared to the previous year. Of these, 201,209 units were from the NIO brand, marking a 25.7% year-on-year growth, while the ONVO brand delivered 20,761 units.
At NIO Day 2024, the company officially launched its smart electric executive flagship sedan model, the NIO ET9. NIO said this model integrates its full-stack technological expertise across 12 domains, offering users flagship experiences in areas such as design, space, comfort, audio systems, intelligent features, assisted and intelligent driving, safety, powertrain, and overall driving performance. Deliveries of the ET9 are scheduled to begin in March 2025.
Additionally, the event also marked the debut of "firefly," NIO's new small, smart, high-end electric car brand. The nascent brand draws on NIO's R&D, design expertise, safety standards, and advanced intelligent technologies. Upholding the brand ethos of being "vivid, thoughtful, and solid," firefly embodies the spirit of "freedom to glow." It aims to provide global users with an engaging driving experience and a thoughtfully designed, robust living space. The official launch of the firefly model is planned for April 2025.
