Spring still afar yet girls prepared for two months, or three

in advance – sandals, parasols, sunscreen.

In wild roses, wool

finds something long lost, some kind of burgundy.

Meditation is mailman’s part-time job so he reads

the names upside down, today doorman’s beer

belly isn’t getting any smaller.

Price of second-hand books: free.

No cherry blossom in Roman bath there is;

Bare-shouldered nectarines mistake bitter apricots for family,

they played games as sacrificing ceremony.

Last night I forgot to look at the lake,

some rabbits jumped in maybe.

You have eyes like a deer’s,

Always at a loss. For one second pigeons looked at each

other, then they took off. Statues felt beauty, fascist beauty, estranged beauty.

Emphasis: destruction unrecovered is sweet.

I mentioned once –

actually I don’t clearly remember.

Those swans in the river used to be the moon indeed.
