Solutions and directions provided by the Communist Party of China's 19th National Congress will contribute enormously to global growth, governance and tackling joint challenges, according to influential political and opinion leaders from around the world.

General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping delivered a keynote report to the congress on Wednesday, unveiling Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the basic policies in key sectors that will guide China's future development.

In particular, Xi, during his nearly three-hour-and-a-half report, devoted a substantial part to the detailed development goals and blueprints of nine specific sectors including economy, social development, culture, diplomacy and Party governance.

The report has sent strong signals of China's commitment to open economy, a better social security system, enhanced environmental protection and a community with a shared future for mankind.

The congress, held at a time when the world faces growing uncertainties and destabilizing factors, is widely expected to bring positive energy to global peace and prosperity, analysts said.

Hailing the congress as "a milestone event in the history of the CPC and China", Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said that it will set guidelines for China's future road under the leadership of Xi.

"A prosperous and stable China is beneficial to the region and the world at large," he said in a congratulatory message to the congress.

Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former French prime minister, said that the development strategy set by the congress not only concerns the Chinese people, but also will influence the whole world.

Alvaro Elizalde Soto, president of the Socialist Party of Chile, and Francisco Melo Contreras, president of the Socialist Youth in Chile, said in their congratulatory message that the guidelines and policies made by the congress "will further promote China's development in the coming five years and contribute to world peace, stability and prosperity".

Romulo Roux, general secretary of Panama's Democratic Change Party, said that the congress will "exert far-reaching influences on international politics, technological innovation and construction of a multipolar world".

George A. Papandreou, former Greek prime minister, said the congress gives a strong message of unity, cohesion and determination to fight for peace, sustainable development and the creation of harmonious societies.

Jon Taylor, a professor of Political Science at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, said that Chinese wisdom and experience can provide a path to resolving some of the world's urgent problems through pursuit of reform, promotion of win-win cooperation and support of open markets.

Martin Jacques, a senior research fellow at Cambridge University's Department of Politics and International Studies, said that the congress is "the most important political gathering in the world this year" along with China's growing confidence on the global stage.

Hao Ping, a delegate to the congress and Party secretary of Peking University, said as the report has embodied many key ideas, China will play a bigger role and contribute more of its wisdom and solutions to international organizations.
