Scientific Officer (Chemistry)

Role Overview: SANS is seeking to recruit talented individuals to join our team of Scientific Officers (Chemistry). This is a unique and exciting opportunity to participate in shaping the scientific research program of this brand new institution by playing active roles in scientific talent identification, and evaluation, as well as organizing scientific conferences and building virtual scientific communities. The "Scientific Officers Team" plays a key and important role in shaping the scientific culture and community that SANS aims to build up
You will be responsible for:
Conduct scanning of disciplinary fields, making forward-looking judgments on selection directions and criteria.
Identify and evaluate research proposals from global scientists and research institutions, participate in and support the selection of new researchers, provide initial screening lists, and organize reviews and final evaluations.
Collaborate with internal teams and external experts to evaluate the scientific value, feasibility, and impact of proposed projects.
Provide strategic guidance to ensure research funding aligns with the NGO's goals and priorities.
Act as a liaison between principal investigators (PIs) and institutions, fostering and maintaining relationships with leading scientists, research institutions, and funding partners. Regularly visit and participate in PI activities, understand their needs, provide scientific support and services, and engage in policy communication and clarification.
Supervise and evaluate funded projects to ensure alignment with goals and expected outcomes.
Organize regular scientific conferences.

Qualified candidates will be with:
Possessing a doctoral degree in Chemical Sciences or related fields is essential, with a strong preference for degrees obtained from international institutions;
Work experience in chemical science or as a scientific editor of an international renowned chemistry journal (postdoctoral research experience in chemistry preferred);
Fluency in English and Chinese;
Strong inter-personal and communication skills;
Multi-tasking and continuous-learning capability;
Familiarity with common office software and analytical tools.
Strategy analysis and research skills will be a plus.
