好莱坞编剧告诉你:精彩的英语作文怎么写?

据说,你有问题?

现在的孩子很喜欢上时下很流行的英文外教课,他们的听说能力是提升了,但英文写作能力没有提高,好的英语作文始终很难从孩子的笔下产出。 外滩君也时常看到满脸愁容的孩子在写作业时,永远把写作文放到最后,强迫着自己赶在时间节点前,绞尽脑汁完成了任务。

没错! 听、说、读、写 是英文学习亘古不变的话题,也是衡量学生英语能力素养最直接的标尺。学习英语语言毋庸置疑还是要体现到写作上。写作,也作为英语学习最大的拦路虎,让很多学生望而却步。

那么,好的英语作文究竟长什么样,如何让孩子的英语作文变得精彩,哪怕是简简单单讲述一个英文故事呢?

好的,我有答案!

如何叙述一个事件,讲好一个英文故事,也许是自己经历过的趣事、看过的电影、或读过的一本书……


这个夏天,我们邀请到在藤校 达特茅斯学院执教创意写作课程7年的Kevin老师,来讲述 “英文记叙文写作的秘密”,指导作品,解决写作的疑问。

Before

Beginning: In the future, human have almost used up all resources on the earth and the environment is badly polluted, so humans invented a type of cargo plane with nearly no pollution which needs two pilots to fly. This kind of plane can transport some huge parts of equipment which will can be used in building facilities for the re cycling resources reuse . why is this important? It can stay in the air for more than forty days, but it travels extremely slow. In one flight, A and B, the two pilots are flying that kind of cargo plane. On the sky above the Atlantic Ocean, the radio connection with the air traffic controller suddenly breaks off. All communication equipment is shutting down.


Middle: A and B argued about what should they do to survive. They have different ideas. A says to go back to the airport which is only two days. But B says the to follow the navigation system the plane had already set before the malfunction of the equipment which takes about ten more days The first conflict begins later in the sky, two pilots are having more conflicts because the communication system are failed. Although they can live on the sky without any problem for twenty days, but because the fail of communication system, the carbine become a tiny separated island where there are only two man living on it. Later the plane will have more trouble which the two pilots need to work together to overcome them. i don’t understand why they can’t just land at an airport somewhere or even a large field......all planes have override systems which allow pilots to fly the plane manually.


Resistance: the two pilots are always having some disagreements about the decisions during the flight. And because the failure of the communicative system, they cannot ask the air traffic control about the exact thing they should do. they don’t t need to do this. the rules of flying are: 1. aviate, 2. navigate, 3. communicate. in that order.


End: They finally reach an airport and their lives are not in danger.


this doesn’t seem a lot different from the last version highlight your changes using a different colour so i can see them. also, i’m not understanding your logic here. this story makes little sense.


After

Humans have polluted the earth too much. In the future,the earth is no longer suitable for living . There is almost no water; and only the Pacific Ocean has reserved some clear water. The sky is grey all the time, almost half of the air is polluted by nuclear explosion and the whole environment is not suitable for the human anymore. Half of the species have died out. So, humans invent a kind of space ship that can transport some very huge parts of the facilities to a planet they discovered about 30- year-travel from earth. The planet has the same distance from its sun as the distance the earth to the sun. Therefore, it also has water and an atmosphere on it. After observing and analyzing the surface of this planet, people found that it is quite suitable for human to live on and there are no other species on it. It is definitely a potential new home for human! Amos and Bill are two pilots from the training school which is located on the moon and was built by the united government. Amos and Bill were once close friends when they were very young. Although they didn’t contact each other for 20 years, they still recognized each other when they met in the training center. After 20 years’ separation, their attitude towards this relationship has changed. Bill who is more withdrawn didn’t regard this relationship that important. However, Amos is so full of life and think optimistically about their friendship. He believer what they have when they were kids can still hold up right here in the training school. To improve their friendship, Amos planned to play a prank that they often did when they were kids, he thought this will help Bill to remember their past. Unfortunately, this prank went wrong and has caused serious injuries to Bill. It also destroyed the cargo spaceship model in the training school. This event didn’t make them become friends, on the contrary, Bill started to regard Amos as an enemy.
