前两天去超市aldi买东西，在门口的看到了这样一句广告词：
▪️Britain\x26#39;s cheapest supermarket, 3 years running.
前面很好理解，英国最便宜的超市，3 years running 是什么意思呢？
这里run可不是跑步的意思，XX years running 是一个词组，「连续...年」。
很多广告里说的「连续...年荣获某奖项」，就可以用这个短语，见图2和图3，我讲给
小狗买保险
的那篇文章也讲过~
再比如《金融时报》一篇关于快餐店的文章有这样一句话：
▪️ Some US chains have grown by leaps and bounds in the country, opening hundreds of stores annually and enjoying profit margins of more than 20 per cent for many years running.
美国一些连锁店近年在中国迅猛发展，每年开张数百家新餐厅，并且连续多年享受超过20%的利润率。
再补充一些同样表示「连续...年」的表达：
🍉... years in a row
🍉 ... years straight
这两个词在口语里用得非常多，我在美剧里经常遇见，例句我放在上面啦。
🍉... consecutive years
🍉 ... successive years
这两个词在书面语里用得比较多。
举个《纽约时报》里的例子：
▪️ The number of marriages in China declined for nine consecutive years, falling by half in less than a decade.
中国的结婚人数已连续九年下降，在不到10年的时间里已减少了一半。
再比如「某事连续3天上了热搜」，就可以说：
sth has been trending on social media for 3 consecutive days.
如果要表达「连续第几年」，前面用序数词。
比如：the fifth consecutive / successive year 连续第5年
