Conference Info
Human society is currently in an era of rapid development in science and technology and quick iteration of intelligent applications. In the world of arts, generative artificial intelligence (hereinafter referred to as AI) not only creates works autonomously or through human-machine collaboration in fields such as music, visual arts, storytelling, literature and poetry, gaming, architecture, and design but is also applied to the analysis, evaluation, and planning of various disciplines and categories of art. On the one hand, AI provides significant content support and efficiency enhancements for many aspects of artistic creative work, helping artists creatively solve complex problems and generate more diverse and efficient creative environments. On the other hand, AI poses significant challenges and impacts on traditional artistic thinking and workflows, sparking in-depth discussions in the global academic community about issues such as the ontology of AI art, technological ethics, and AI art applications: What is the essence of AI art? Where are its boundaries? How does it intersect with other fields? What are its development paths?
The academic conference
Arts, Technology, Media and Culture: A Collaborative Future of AI Arts from an Interdisciplinary Perspective
invites scholars and college students from various domestic and international disciplines to engage in diverse and forward-looking interdisciplinary discussions on AI art. The conference is divided into four thematic panels: (1) AI Art and Science; (2) AI Art and the Philosophy of Technology; (3) AI Art and Media; and (4) AI Art and the “Two Innovations” of Outstanding Traditional Culture. We look forward to interdisciplinary research results from art, philosophy, sociology, journalism and communication, mathematics, computer science, life sciences, environmental science, history, cognitive science, psychology, geography, remote sensing, and other fields from multidimensional perspectives.
Panel Info
AI Art and Science
The panel aims to explore the innovative integration of art and science and the challenges it faces. We look forward to discussing the application of artificial intelligence and other scientific technologies in artistic creation, as well as how AI technology drives the integration and innovation of scientific research and artistic creation. This includes, but is not limited to, how AI technology is applied to building interdisciplinary co-creation platforms across fields such as art and mathematics, life sciences, environmental science, and computer science. This panel encourages scholars to delve into the scientific principles and algorithmic innovations behind AI art creation and their impact on artistic creation and interdisciplinary applications, promoting a deep integration of science and art.
AI Art and the Philosophy of Technology
The panel encourages scholars to engage in philosophical reflection and critical research on the ontology of AI art, its technological ethics, and its boundaries. We welcome diverse and interdisciplinary academic perspectives, including but not limited to philosophy, art studies, media studies, and critical studies. We also hope that the discussions will continue the tradition of the philosophy of technology in examining and critically questioning technology, technological objects, and human ontology, bringing the entwined relationship between AI technology and art back into the metaphors of Epimetheus and Prometheus. This sub-session aims to fully explore how artificial intelligence creatively transforms itself and how human intelligence adaptively regulates technology.
AI Art and Media
The panel focuses on discussing how AI content generation and AI art creation are transforming traditional media and new media forms, and how they impact information dissemination, media modalities, and audiences. We also welcome cutting-edge discussions on the application of AI art in fields such as international communication and digital communication, how audiences receive AI content, and AI as a research method in social sciences. We look forward to fresh perspectives from disciplines such as (but not limited to)
journalism and communication, sociology, psychology, and cognitive science, exploring recent AI media phenomena and frontier issues.
AI Art and the “Two Innovations” of Outstanding Traditional Culture
The panel aims to discuss how AI technology can empower the creative transformation and innovative development of China's outstanding traditional culture. This includes, but is not limited to, the digital presentation, artistic revitalization, interactive display, and international dissemination of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, traditional culture, ethnic culture, and local culture. We focus not only on the technical prospects of AI in artistic creation and the innovation and creative transformation of traditional culture but also aim to explore the potential of AI technology in inheriting historical culture, promoting the human spirit, and telling the Chinese story. We look forward to in-depth discussions from disciplines such as (but not limited to) history, literature, archaeology, and information science.
