在桥水，批评是受到欢迎和鼓励的，但没有理由背后议论别人。背后说人坏话有消极效果，是非常表里不一的行为，不会产生任何有益的改变，只能对当事人和整个环境产生破坏作用。其恶劣程度仅次于撒谎，是我们公司最忌讳的事情。

如果下属不在场，管理者不得议论下属。如果会议上讨论的事情与某些员工相关而其不在场，我们总要确保在事后发给他们一份会议录音和其他相关信息。

Criticism is welcomed and encouraged at Bridgewater, but there is never a good reason to bad-mouth people behind their backs. It is counterproductive and shows a serious lack of integrity and it subverts both the person being bad-mouthed and the environment as a whole. Next to being dishonest, it is the worst thing you can do in our community.

Managers should not talk about people who work for them if they are not in the room. If someone is not present at a meeting where something relevant to them is discussed, we always make sure to send them a recording of the meeting and other relevant information.
