西方媒体大多进行了报道，今天我们一起读一篇CNN的文章。

最直接的原因是美国可能要禁掉TikTok，美国网民涌入小红书作为替代平台。这群美国网友自称“Tik Tok refugees”：

ponder 意思是“沉思、仔细考虑”，相当于think carefully about或consider，它的常见搭配有ponder over sth, ponder a question/issue或ponder whether/if。例如：

《摩登家庭》里有一个关于ponder的谐音梗例句：

Bloomberg的报道中还出现了一种说法：

corner the market意思是：to gain control of the whole supply of a particular kind of goods“垄断市场”，例如：

They've been trying to corner the market by buying up all the wheat in sight.

他们想把所有能得到的小麦都买下来以垄断市场。

同义替换有：

monopolize the market

dominate the market

have a monopoly on the market

take over the market

有什么影响？

TikTok被禁，意外促进了中美网友交流：

“This could be a historic moment,” one Chinese user commented. “It feels like so much has changed in an instant. Ordinary people from our two countries have never really connected before … I hope everyone can take this brief chance to engage in meaningful exchanges of ideas.”

engage in 是一个常见的短语，意思是“参与、从事、投入（某种活动）”，文中engage in meaningful exchanges of ideas表示参与有意义的思想交流。Engage in在这里相当于participate in, take part in, be involved in等。它可以用在教育话题中，例如：

In the classroom, teachers should engage students in critical thinking exercises to prepare them for real-world challenges.

在课堂上，教师应通过引导学生进行批判性思维训练，为他们应对现实世界的挑战做好准备。

exchanges of表示“…的交流、…的交换”，例如：

有人问老外英语作业：

presented by = brought by，是过去分词形式的后置定语，修饰前面的名词opportunity，意思是：涌入的美国网友带来的机会。

garner = obtain，表示“获得”，常见搭配有：
