昨晚，当巴黎圣母院 （法语： Notre-Dame de Paris） 的尖塔在大火中坠落的时候，有多少人的心跟着一起碎了。
当地时间4月15日傍晚，这座已经在塞纳河畔伫立了800多年的天主教堂突然起火，大火持续了几个小时。
现场浓烟滚滚，窜过圣母院130米高的屋顶，似乎弥漫了整个巴黎的天空，让人绝望。用巴黎圣母院发言人当时的话来说：
"Everything is burning, nothing will remain from the flame. ”
现场浓烟滚滚，火势窜天。
法国著名作家维克多·雨果 （Victor Marie Hugo） 的巨作《巴黎圣母院》让这座哥特式建筑为世人皆知，成为法国最有代表性的历史遗迹。 小说中有一句台词：
“人的心只容得下一定程度的绝望，海绵已经吸够了水，即使大海从它上面流过，也不能再给它增添一滴水了。”
或许，这也可以用来描述人们面对这座历史古迹、世界遗产、宗教圣地被大火吞没时时绝望的心情吧。
在法国的街头，成千上万的人们静静地站着，凝视着火光，也有人默默哭泣。人们自发唱起圣歌，走进教堂祈祷。

为何它如此牵动人们的心？
关于巴黎圣母院，你或许还不知道的一些事实：
❶ The cathedral receives almost 13m visitors each year, more than the Eiffel Tower.
这座教堂每年都有1300万游客前来参观，比埃菲尔铁塔的游客还要多。
❷ Built in the 12th and 13th Centuries, it was currently undergoing major renovations.
它是在12-13世纪间建造的，当前正在进行大规模的修复。
❸ The roof, which appears to have been heavily damaged by the blaze, is made mostly of wood.
教堂屋顶主要是木质结构，因此禁不住大火的侵蚀。
火灾的起因还不清楚，官员称可能和修复工作 （renovation work ） 有关。
法国总统埃马纽埃尔·马克龙 （Emmanuel Macron） 得知消息后，立刻取消了当天晚上的电视演讲，赶到火灾现场。
他说：今晚发生的事情是糟糕的悲剧。这是我们的历史，它被烧掉了。
"What's happened this evening is obviously a terrible tragedy."
"This is our history, and it's burning."
联合国秘书长古特雷斯在一条推文中说：
“火灾席卷巴黎圣母院的照片令人惊恐，自14世纪以来，它一直是独特的世界遗产典范。 ”
世界各地的人们都紧张地关注火势，为教堂祈祷。梅姨也发了推特：
连特朗普也没有忘了来凑热闹，建议从空中洒水灭火，制造出“会飞的水箱 （flying water tankers） ” 。
消防员们很快赶到现场，却也对火势的蔓延表示无奈。
