Airlines in the Asia-Pacific took delivery of 52 of the 120 commercial airliners delivered in May 2019, while North American airlines took 27 new aircraft, and European airlines 24.
Asia-Pacific deliveries were up three aircraft from a month earlier, and sharply higher than 42 aircraft in May 2018, according to Cirium’s Fleets Analyzer.
Among Asia-Pacific countries, China led with 15 deliveries, just ahead of India with 12. Other countries with significant deliveries were Japan with five new aircraft and Vietnam with four.
Airliner deliveries through May 2019
IndiGo led deliveries among airlines, taking nine new aircraft: eight Airbus A320neos and a single ATR 72-600.
Following IndiGo were Air China and China Southern Airlines, each taking four new aircraft. Air China took pair of A320neos and a pair of A350-900s. China Southern took two A321neos, one Boeing 787-9, and one 777-300ER.

Singapore Airlines and Vietnam Airlines had notable months, taking three new aircraft each.
Airbus led deliveries for specific airframers, with 37 aircraft compared with Boeing’s eight deliveries.
In the widebody category Airbus delivered 10 aircraft in the Asia-Pacific: seven A350-900s, one A350-1000, one A330-300, and an A380. Boeing, meanwhile, delivered six aircraft: three 787-9s, one 787-10, and two 777-300ERs.

In the narrowbody category the global 737 Max grounding and delivery stoppage saw Boeing only deliver a pair of 737-800s to Asia-Pacific carriers, against Airbus’s deliveries of four A320ceos and 23 A320neo family jets.
