“民粹主义与全球化——2017年的关键之争”
今年欧洲几个主要国家均面临大选，在此过程中，人们可能产生一个困惑：为何时下有如此之多的国家遭遇民粹主义的强烈反弹？不断高涨的民粹主义真是由“全球化进程中的失败者们”揭竿而起所引发的吗？
无论如何，全球化的确令经济发生了根本性的转变，将低技能要求的就业机会输送到了发展中国家——这也是民粹主义者们不厌其烦、屡屡提出的一个重要话题。
民粹主义是一股不断发展壮大的政治力量，它对各国国内经济所具有的影响还难以预测。
经济学人智库董事总经理毕若彬（Robin Bew）对全球趋势进行了综合全面的分析，并向我们展示经济学人智库对2017年的预测。
毕若彬先生现任经济学人智库董事总经理（CEO），从总体上负责智库在商业和编辑方面取得成功。升任董事总经理之前，毕若彬先生曾任经济学人智库编辑总监（2006年-2013年）及首席经济学家（1997-2013年），负责智库编辑事务的运作。
毕若彬先生于1995年加入经济学人智库。此前他是英国财政部的宏观经济学家。他在伦敦大学取得经济学专业理学硕士学位，在布鲁内尔大学取得经济与商业金融专业理学学士学位。他还曾在芝加哥大学布斯商学院以及IE商学院（马德里）进修课程。毕若彬先生现为IE商学院经济学教授。

“Populism vs. Globalisation - The Key Contests in 2017”
With elections in several major European countries taking place this year one may wonder why so many countries currently are facing a populist backlash. Is rising populism really a rebellion led by “globalisation’s losers”?
After all, it is true that globalisation has fundamentally transformed economies, sending low-skill jobs to the developing world – a point that populist figures never get tired of highlighting.
Populism is a growing political power whose impact on domestic economies is hard to predict.
Robin Bew, Managing Director of the Economist Intelligence Unit, has taken acomprehensive look at trends worldwide and presents to us the EIU global forecast for 2017.
Robin is the Managing Director (CEO) of the Economist Intelligence Unit, responsible for the overarching commercial and editorial success of the EIU’s business. Prior to becoming Managing Director, Robin was Editorial Director (2006-2013) and Chief Economist (1997-2013) of the EIU, responsible for the company’seditorial operations.
Robin joined the EIU in 1995. Prior to that, he was a macroeconomist with Her Majesty’s Treasury (the UK Finance Ministry). He has an MSc in Economics from the University of London, and a BSc in Economics and Business Finance from Brunel University. He has attended programmes at the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business and at IE Business School in Madrid. Robin is also a Professor of Economics at IE Business School.
