《IT狂人》刷剧笔记S03E01

这里click作动词，if two people click, they like, understand, and agree with each other 两个人情投意合，合得来 。

在读 Normal People 的时候碰巧也遇上了几个关于click的例子:

①I just don't have a lot of people who I really click with .

这里的click就是和剧里的是一个意思啦。

②Marianne clicks her tongue as if to scold Joanna for her cruelty, but not with any great investment.

click one's tongue 指“ 咂嘴 ”，尤其是当你 生气或者失望 时。这让我想起了 smack one's lips , 它也翻译为“咂嘴”，但一般指的是当你吃了什么好吃的时候咂嘴 表示东西味道很好 。

③The kettle clicks its switch and she lifts it out of the cradle.

这里指水壶里的水开了后开关跳了。

另外， hit it off 也可指“两人一见如故，合得来”。

指:a friendly, harmonious relationship 融洽，和睦关系 。

这个词在专四真题的语言应用题里面其实也出现过：（2016年第25题）

Chris ran__John at a sporting-goods trade show and the two quickly struck __an easy rapport .

A. into...up        B. on...into

C. across...on    D. against...into

答案选A。这道题可以用排除法。

先看第二个空。 strike up 固定表达，指“ 与某人建立起友谊/关系等 ”，常见搭配有:strike up a friendship/ relationship/ conversation etc. 代入题干，strike up an easy rapport 建立起了轻松和睦的关系，讲得通。

strike on/upon 相当于 think of/ discover sth.

strike into 不是固定搭配，且语料库能查到的例子非常有限，说明母语人士很少这样搭配。

run into 和 run across 都有“ 偶然遇到某人 ”的意思，所以只看第一个空A和C带进题干其实都讲得通。

而B项的 run on 指的是“ 持续；继续 ”，尤指超出了预计时间，且为 不及物 动词短语， 后面不带宾语 。

D项 run against 指“ 与...竞选 ”。

所以综合考虑，答案选A。Chris在体育用品贸易展会上碰到了John，这两个人很快变得十分投契。

lollipop本指的“棒棒糖”，但lollipop man可不是指的爱吃棒棒糖的男人哈哈哈。其实是指“ 帮助学童过马路的交通安全员 ”。如果是女性的话，也可以用lollipop lady。

这个短语指：to start or continue doing something, especially more quickly or with more energy after a pause 加紧干
