大程今天需要出差,提前寻到一本《学术英语写作典型错句500例》,特异将一部分整理出来,以飨读者。


1. 使用etc.时候不能使用and.


2. 错误使用include和involve

比如某某东西涉及**,这个时候应该用involve而不是include


3. 当描述“最后”的时候,误用“At last”,最合适的为Finally.


4. 可数名词前需要有冠词


5. 为了使句子紧凑,可以多使用 with

With结构:

With/without +名词/代词+分词(或者介词短语;形容词;副词;不定式;名词) 在句子中主要作为状语,放在句首中主要表示“如果、当。。。时候,在。。。之后,因为,虽然”

例句:

With the battery terminals reversed,the result will be very difficult.


6. 凡是提到“一种方法”、“一种语言”、“一种算法”,一般这里“种”概念是不该翻译出来的,最简单的判别方法是:

如果涉及的只是一个东西,则“种”字不翻译出来,如上面提到的分别翻译为:

a methods、a language、an algorithm等。而如果涉及的是一系列东西,则要把“种”翻译出来,一种新的计算机,a new kind of computer


7. method 后面最常跟的是 for +动名词或者动作性名词,也可以跟of +动名词或者动作性名词,还可以跟动词不定式,后面不能跟of+一个东西,属于中国式英语表达方法。
