I have just returned to Britain after cycling over 3,500 km for charity . My journey took me from London to Athens through Paris, Munich, Vienna and Belgrade. I just wanted to do something for others. At first I was going to raise money for an 1 charity. But half way through my journey, there was a terrible earthquake in Malaysia and I 2 decided the money would all go there. Some of my friends donated about £2,000 in all. While I was travelling, generous people gave me another £3,000. But half of the money I raised came from my 3 . After four weeks’ cycling, I gave the cycle to a children’s charity and came back by train. My dad offered to buy me 4 , but I believe in “green” transport . Er … about my next journey, someone suggested that I get a better bike or do it in a cooler season — spring, for example. Well, my new bike is 5 and I’m only free in the summer, but I think I’d rather not go on my own next time.
