当长宾语后跟有宾补时，通常用形式宾语it，而将真正的宾语从句移至句末，看例子：
She found it difficult to answer the question.
她发现回答这个问题很困难。
这句话的原序是这样的：She found [to answer thequestion] difficult. 这里to answer the question 是一个长宾语（不定式做宾语），后面的difficult 是宾补。
因为宾语很长，宾补很短，为了避免“头重脚轻”，用形式宾语 it 替代宾语，把真实长宾语放在宾补的后面，故写成：She found it difficult to answer the question.
再看几个例子：
He feels it his duty to help others.
他认为帮助别人是他的责任。
原序：He feels [to help others] his duty.
He made it a rule to exercise for half an hour after dinner.
他规定自己饭后锻炼半小时。
原序：He made [to exercise for half an hour after dinner] a rule
