About the Role:
The Settlements team spans various functions including Trading & Market Documentation, Transaction Management, Corporate Actions and Reconciliations for BlackRock's funds domiciled in China via the wealth management distribution platform.
We are looking for an experienced professional to join the growing China onshore team to further support the business expansion and footprints in China!
The team will also work closely with Investments teams and Trading to support the full trade lifecycle from account set up, funding, settlement, margin, collateral and reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities:
Show excellent attention to detail with critical thinking skills;
Demonstrate partnership skills within BlackRock to actively engage and lead fund product changes, with focus on maintaining a good working relationship with Global Product Group and our Investment teams;
Supervise outsourced functions, including performance of the service provider, due diligence visits, leading all aspects of risk and control environments, investigation of Settlement related queries;
Partner with counterparties and custodians to facilitate timely trade settlement and minimize potential fails;
Handle cash and trade workflow error resolution including funding shortages or failed trades across products (FX, equities, bonds, derivatives, etc.);
Perform daily transaction, position and balance reconciliation, ensuring all exceptions are investigated and resolved prior to end of day system refresh and account for all adjustments made within the Investment & Trading system;
Ensure all corporate actions, including income events, are captured, validated, elected and processed timely across entitled funds;
Experience with ETFs is valued, including the creation and redemption process;
Illustrated strong ability and track record in resolving and implementing change to processes and products;
Contribute to the operating model design process for new products and update procedures;
Raise all material risk items and service issues on a timely basis.
Skills and Qualifications:
6 - 8 years proven experience within the asset management industry or a related industry, ideally with exposure to Fund Operation and experience with China onshore products;
Prepared to take the initiative, understanding that a highly organized team can drive better performance, and can take the lead in managing operational improvements and change;
High level of attention to detail and ability to resolve conflicting priorities;
Demonstrates a proactive and risk-focused approach to work, understanding the importance of identifying and raising issues appropriately;
Ability to work in a multifaceted, fast-paced environment with high self-assurance, energy and drive;
A proven ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships with key partners;
Possess strong interpersonal skills;
Able to think strategically and consider implications of actions from all angles;
Knowledge of anti-money laundering policies and requirements;
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and prior hands on experience with automation tools (e.g. VBA, RPA, Python, etc.) would be an advantage;
Experience with China mainland financial technology platform would be valuable;
Proficient in both written and spoken Mandarin and English.
Regional Sales Lead - East China | Vice President | Shanghai

We are currently looking for an experienced professional with a desire to advance his/her career to take up the role of Regional Sales Lead. The position will be based in Shanghai with significant travel to the covered region.
The individual in this role will be responsible for developing and executing a detailed sales strategy with a focus on promoting our WMC product offerings. The primary target audience will be Banks prioritized in partnership with distribution management, both on retailed investors and institutional investors.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and target existing and potential clients within China, with particular focus on East China.
Employ a wide variety of direct and indirect sales and business development strategies. Prioritize appropriately to focus efforts on highest opportunities for medium and long-term business growth.
Raise the profile and usage of WMC products within the targeted client base. Deliver AUM and revenue targets for the business
Oversee client enquiries related to BlackRock CCB WMC products, operational issues, and/or other post-sale matters

Responsible for sales and marketing of BlackRock CCB WMC products to commercial banks in Mainland China, covering:
Business development – identifying new business opportunities
Relationship management – maintaining existing client relationships, developing activity plans and sales strategies for assigned client accounts
Training – preparing presentations, marketing materials, and conducting large and small scale trainings to financial intermediaries (and where relevant to end investors)
Client servicing – overseeing client enquiries related to BlackRock CCB WMC products, operational issues, and/or other post-sale matters
Partner with regional office to develop and execute annual business plans in order to achieve sales, revenue and market share targets
Keep abreast of industry/competitor/market conditions, client needs, WMC product information, relevant market and regulation frameworks
Work closely with Marketing on branding, products launches, campaigns, events and other promotion activities.
Work with Legal, Compliance and Operations to process and execute distribution agreements, account openings, and ensure all materials adhere to the necessary local regulations.
Coordinate client meetings, fund manager roadshows, conference calls, etc.
Significant business travel is required in this position
Skills and Qualifications:
At least 10 years of investment product sales experience, preferably in a high quality, multi-product investment or wealth management firm
Experience in developing and / or distributing products that help domestic investors to invest for their future and retirement in China is preferred
Deep knowledge of the China WMC industry, products, and competitor landscape
Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
Experience and judgment to consistently handle complex client requirements independently
Must possess outstanding written and oral communication skills, fluency in Mandarin (required) and English (preferred)
Detail-oriented, client-focused, team-play, mature, confident, self-motivated, and a proven new business generator
University graduate in a relevant field (Economics, Finance or Accounting) or suitable industry qualification (for example CAIA, CFA, CFP)
Possess required regulatory licenses
