2017年9月7-8日,国际海洋基因组会议(The International Conference on Genomics-Ocean,ICG-Ocean)将在青岛举办。本次会议由青岛西海岸新区管理委员会、深圳华大基因研究院、深圳国家基因库、青岛华大基因研究院、青岛中国生态园管理委员会共同举办,是一场以海洋基因组学为主题的专业研讨会,主要议题涉及海洋生态与环境、海洋生物多样性、海洋生物育种和海洋活性物质开发等。现诚邀全球科学家参会,分享海洋基因组领域的研究进展、经验和想法,希望进一步促成更多实际性的合作。
The International Conference on Genomics-Ocean (ICG-Ocean) will be hold on 7th and 8th September, 2017, in Qingdao, China. ICG-Ocean is organized by Qingdao West Coast New Area, BGI-Shenzhen, China National GeneBank, BGI-Qingdao and Sino-German Ecopark. It is a symposium focusing on marine genomics. Marine genomics have been substantially developed in both researches and applications, especially in areas including ocean environment investigation, biological conservations and applications of marine biological resources. ICG-Ocean seeks to contribute to accelerating marine genomic researches by introducing the latest research progresses, technological development, and international collaborations.

The China National GeneBank (CNGB)

The China National GeneBank (CNGB), which was founded by the BGI Shenzhen, is the first national genebank in China to combine the large-scale bio-resource storage and database. CNGB has built an integrated infrastructure of “Three banks and Two platforms”. "Three Banks" represent the Biorepository, Bioinformatic database and Living Biobank, while “Two Platforms” include Digitalization Platform and DNA Synthesis and Editing Platform.
Following the idea of “Store, Read, and Write" of DNA, CNGB establishes a public platform as well as principles and guidelines to enable exchange and share of genetic data and resources with the major databases such as NCBI, EMBL-EBI and DDBJ, and with biobanks including the Svalbard Seed Vault, Heidelberg University, Smithsonian Institute, etc.. CNGB will build a global network to facilitate genetic resource exploration and industrial transformation of omics in the areas including personalized medicine, agricultural breeding and microbial application, etc., and to innovate new technologies. The mission of CNGB is “Genomic resources are owned by all, completed by all and shared by all”.
青岛华大基因研究院(青岛国家海洋基因库(筹),简称“青岛华大”)是深圳华大基因研究院和青岛中德生态园管理委员会共同举办的青岛市级事业单位(青编办字[2016]99号),于2016年12月6日注册成立。旨在借助青岛海洋研究领域的雄厚实力,实现海洋生物资源研究的“存读写”,和组学研究和产业化的贯穿,建设具有示范作用的综合性研究中心。主要建有样本库、数据库、测序与表型数字化平台、合成与编辑平台、数据挖掘与科学研究平台、临床检验中心平台、公共实验平台等技术平台,重点将围绕海洋生态与环境、海洋生物多样性、海洋生物育种和海洋活性物质开发等方向,联合国内外科研院所和单位,组建研究联盟,开展广泛的科研合作,发起海洋组学大科学项目,进一步推进青岛市海洋资源、科学、技术和产业的国际交流和合作,实现互利共赢,为实现海洋强国和健康中国的国家战略目标做出贡献。
截至目前,青岛华大已在国际顶尖杂志 Science 和 GigaScience 上发表论文 4篇。其中,青岛华大的科研人员参与国际“人工合成酵母基因组计划”并主导了2号染色体的设计与全合成,在 Science 杂志以封面形式发表系列论文 3 篇。青岛华大与青岛市政府合作进行的民生项目已经落地,主要进行产前筛查高风险和临界风险孕妇免费基因检测或产前诊断服务,是青岛市2017年市办实事之一。
BGI Qingdao Research Institute (abbreviated as "BGI-Qingdao") , established on December 6, 2016, is a research institute co-organized by BGI Shenzhen and the Sino-German Ecopark. BGI-Qingdao aims to improve marine biological researches and connect genome researches and industrial applications, by constructing a comphrensive genomic platform. BGI-Qingdao will establish sample repository, sequencing platform, DNA synthesis and editing platform, data mining and scientific research platform, clinical center and public experimental platform. BGI-Qingdao will launch a series of projects focusing on marine ecology and environment, marine biodiversity, marine breeding and marine bioactive compounds. BGI-Qingdao would like to collaborate with domestic and global research institutes to promote marine researches and applications.
Up to now, BGI-Qingdao has published four scientific research papers in top journals, including Science and GigaScience. Especially, BGI-Qingdao researchers participated in the international "synthetic yeast genome project" and led the design and synthesis of chromosome 2. In the meantime, the cooperation project between BGI-Qingdao and Qingdao municipal government to provide free genetic prenatal testing has also been initiated.
