今天是中国共产党成立96周年纪念日（the 96th anniversary for the founding of the Communist Party of China）。
1921年的7月23日，中国共产党第一次全国代表大会(the first CPC National Congress)在上海法租界望志路106号（今兴业路76号）开幕。党的一大宣告了中国共产党的正式成立，被认为是中国历史上开天辟地的大事件。后来，7月1日被确定为中国共产党诞生纪念日。
习近平总书记在去年建党95周年纪念大会上说：
历史告诉我们，95年来，中国走过的历程，中国人民和中华民族走过的历程，是中国共产党和中国人民用鲜血、汗水、泪水写就的，充满着苦难和辉煌、曲折和胜利、付出和收获，这是中华民族发展史上不能忘却、不容否定的壮丽篇章，也是中国人民和中华民族继往开来、奋勇前进的现实基础。
为了使人们对中国共产党的历史有个更加全面清晰的认识和把握，对中国共产党历史发展规律有更深刻的认识和理解，作为中国共产党的党史研究机构，中共中央党史研究室(Party History Research Office of the CPC Central Committee)近年来编写了一系列党史研究著作。

The History of the Communist Party of China Ⅰ(1921-1949) and Ⅱ（1949-1978）
《中国共产党历史》第一卷于2002年出版。第二卷的编写历经16载，于中国共产党成立90周年前夕出版，并以蒙古、藏、维吾尔、朝鲜、哈萨克5种少数民族文字出版。
Volume Ⅰ was published in 2002 and volume Ⅱ, taking 16 years to research and compile, was finally published in 2011 when the Party celebrated its 90th birthday. Volume Ⅱ has been translated into five languages of ethnic groups in China: Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur, Korean and Kazak.

90 Years of the Communist Party of China
去年，中国共产党成立95周年之际，中共中央党史研究室编写出版了《中国共产党的九十年》，被认为是迄今为止国内公开出版的权威读物中，反映中国共产党历史时间跨度最长、内容最全面系统的一部党史基本著作。
Compiled and published last year by the Party History Research Office of the CPC Central Committee to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Party, 90 Years of the Communist Party of China sold 1.3 million copies since it's been published, according to Wu Degang, director of the office.
中共中央党史研究室副主任吴德刚介绍说，该著作编写历时六年多，著名的专家学者近百人参加了这套书的统校工作。出版一年来，已发行130多万套，在读者当中广受好评，被认为集政治性、权威性、思想性、学术性为一体，可读、可信、可取，是一部学习和研究中共党史的范本。
"The series is one that exhibits Party history in the longest time span, with the most well-rounded, systematic content among existing similar publications," Wu said at a news conference on Friday, the day before the Party's 96th anniversary. It took about six years for the series to be developed, with almost 100 scholars contributing, Wu added.
该套图书入选了2016年度“30本中国好书”和“大众喜爱的50种图书”。
"The series has received very positive feedback since being published and was listed among the '30 Chinese good books' and '50 Chinese people's favorite books' last year," Wu said.
《红军长征纪实丛书》
Documentary Series on the Long March of the Red Army
2016年，在长征胜利80周年到来之际，由中共中央党史研究室编纂出版，对红军长征和长征精神进行了专题研究。共10卷42册，约1600万字。
Compiled by the Party History Research Office of the CPC Central Committee, the series of books was published in 2016 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army’s Long March. The series contained 42 books with a total of 16 million words.

党史工具书，收入近1万个辞条，总字数达400多万字。

中共党史人物研究著作，累计出版89卷，共2500多万字。
It’s a collection of the biographies of important figures and influential leaders of the CPC compiled by the Party History Research Office of the CPC Central Committee. A total of 89 volumes totaling 25 million words have been published.
