Job Description
The Amgen Postdoctoral Program is committed to providing future scientists with an enriched environment to inspire innovation that will contribute to the development of human therapeutics.
This is one of the two positions supporting Aimovig, Amgen's CGRP receptor Ab for migraine prevention, current under FDA review for BLA. We will be studying system biology as well as migraine pathophysiology using ex vivo electrophysiology approaches.
The focus of this project is the trigeminal ganglion to brainstem signal transmission and the impact of CGRP pathway inhibitors to the aforementioned signaling. Manuscript publication and meeting presentations will occur immediately with the outcomes of the study.
The assignment length is expected to be 3 years long
Basic Qualifications
PhD at the time of appointment
Preferred Qualifications
Skilled in designing complex ex vivo electrophysiology experiments and interpreting results.
The candidate should have robust training and technical skills that include: dissecting and isolating tissues, inserting probes into desired brain regions, setting up and manipulating input signals and recording output activities.
