Key responsibilities
• Translating and proofreading documents pertaining to investment banking business from English to Chinese and vice versa, ensuring the meaning of the source text is accurately expressed
• Closely working with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the team and deliver quality translation to bankers in a timely fashion
• Respond to bankers’ queries via phone and email in a timely and professionally manner; liaising with bankers to clarify any unclear points and/or deadline adjustment
Core competences
• Excellent English comprehension skills
• Heightened attention to details and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Solid knowledge in global economy and capital markets
• Ability to work under pressure effectively and able to meet tight deadlines
• Greater than 5 years’ experience in translation field, IB translation preferably
• Self- motivation, strong work ethics
• Eagerness to acquire new knowledge
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiar with Trados
Working hours
• Operation Opening hours are from 9am – 9pm
• Translators work on two shifts: 9am-6pm and 12pm-9pm on a rotation basis, i.e. each translator needs to take the 12pm-9pm shift for one week once a month
