Taylor Swift fans mesmerized by rehearsal clips on a kiosk at her May 18th Rose Bowl show were unaware of one crucial detail : A facial-recognition camera inside the display was taking their photos. The images were being transferred to a Nashville “command post,” where they were cross-referenced with a database of hundreds of the pop star’s known stalkers .

While the move might seem creepy, it’s perfectly legal. Since a concert is technically a private event, organizers can subject concert-goers to almost any kind of surveillance . Advancements in facial-recognition technology are being applied for use at crowded events, such as those at concerts. Ticketmaster is working on replacing tickets with a facial scan that is tied to your seat.

mesmerize 使……着迷

If you are mesmerized by something , you are so interested in it or so attracted to it that you cannot think about anything else.

He was absolutely mesmerized by Pavarotti on television.

If you are enchanted by someone or something, they cause you to have feelings of great delight or pleasure.

KIOSK

KIOSK

Taylor Swift fans mesmerized by rehearsal clips on a kiosk at her May 18th Rose Bowl show were unaware of one crucial detail.

Taylor Swift fans were unaware of one crucial detail.

Taylor Swift fans who were mesmerized by rehearsal clips on a kiosk at her May 18th Rose Bowl show were unaware of one crucial detail.

Cross-reference

cross

Ticketmaster is working on replacing tickets with a facial scan that is tied to your seat.

subject …… to ……

If you subject someone to something unpleasant, you make them experience it.

Prices may be subject to alteration.
