Shenzhen Airlines has today responded to multiple accounts of an incident about a fight that took place on the ZH9539 plane before take off, which resulted in the flight's air hostess being sent to a hospital after being bitten when she tried to stop the fight.
A video that was published online and quickly went viral on social media, showed two passengers first arguing about body odor and perfume smell, and then escalating to a physical altercation.
According to witnesses, a female passenger complained about the other female passenger's body odor, while the latter complained about the smell of the perfume the former was wearing.
When the two went full Rambo against each other, the video showed a flight attendant intervening, only to scream a moment later that she was bitten.
Other flight attendants broke the fight and the bitten attendant was taken by an ambulance to a hospital for treatment.
A witness who shared on Weibo images of the incident said it caused all passengers to be asked to deboard the plane and wait for around 2 hours to re-board.
"It was too scary." The passenger wrote on Weibo.
Shenzhen Airlines reported that the flight attendant's arm was injured during the fight and she was treated at a local hospital, but did not suffer from any serious injuries.
The passengers involved in the fight were handed over to the local police for further investigation, the report said.
The airline company vowed to make every effort to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of passengers and staff and called for passengers to abide by the laws and exercise a civilized attitude while traveling.
