The cash injection has reinforced a view that the central bank is now backing away from further loosening monetary policy.

The central bank provided more than 260 billion yuan to some large and midsize banks through its targeted medium-term lending facility, or TMLF, to reward them for enhancing credit support for small and private companies in the first quarter.

At a global partner conference on Tuesday in Shanghai, China Unicom announced the launch of trial 5G services in major cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou as well as Xiong’an, a new economic zone just south of Beijing and home to some noncore functions of the capital.

Wang Xiaochu, chairman of China’s second-largest telecom carrier, called for cooperation among carriers and equipment makers to build a 5G network that offers more reasonable prices to consumers.

The innovation lab will be available for everyone to use.

Edward Deng, president of Huawei Cloud Global Market, said the project will promote the adoption of cloud and artificial intelligence technologies in Singapore.

He said such labs have been effective in China, Hong Kong and Europe.

It looks like there is more trouble on the horizon for embattled energy conglomerate CEFC China Energy — this time in the form of a potential delisting of one of its subsidiaries.

Shenzhen-listed CEFC Anhui International Holding, a unit of CEFC China, had released six risk warning announcements this month as of Wednesday.

The documents said that if the company’s auditor gives its 2018 annual report a “disclaimer of opinion” or “an adverse opinion,” it will have to halt trading of its shares on the day the report is released.

Under those circumstances, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange would have to decide whether to suspend the company’s stock from trading within 15 trading days. If so, the company would face a much higher risk of being delisted.

The audited report is scheduled to be released on Tuesday.
