Prof. Xiangen Hu is the Director of the Educational Research Centre and a chair professor in learning sciences and technologies at PolyU, Prof. He was a professor in the Departments of Psychology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Computer Science at The University of Memphis (UofM) for 30 years, where he also worked as a senior researcher at the Institute for Intelligent Systems (IIS). His leadership roles included serving as a professor and Dean of the School of Psychology at Central China Normal University (CCNU), leading the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Partnership Laboratory at UofM, and working as a senior researcher at the Key Laboratory of Adolescent Cyberpsychology and Behavior, backed by the Chinese Ministry of Education.
Prof. Hu's research focuses on four key areas: developing mathematical models to decode human cognitive behavior, specializing in research design and statistical analysis particularly for categorical data using general processing tree models, delving into artificial intelligence for knowledge representation, creating computerized tutoring systems, and enhancing distributed learning technologies.
胡祥恩教授是香港理工大学教育研究中心主任及学习科学与技术讲座教授。他曾在美国孟菲斯大学心理学系、电子与计算机工程系和计算机科学系担任教授30年，并曾在美国孟菲斯大学智能系统研究所担任高级研究员。他曾担任华中师范大学心理学院教授兼院长，领导孟菲斯大学高级分布式学习合作实验室，并在中国教育部青少年网络心理与行为重点实验室担任高级研究员。
胡教授的研究主要集中在四个关键领域:开发数学模型来解码人类认知行为;专攻研究设计和统计分析，特别是使用一般处理树模型对分类数据进行分析;深入研究知识表示的人工智能;创建计算机辅导系统;以及增强分布式学习技术。
