当地时间6月3日晚，英国伦敦发生恐怖袭击事件，这也是英国近期发生的第三起恐袭事件。
截至目前此次恐袭事件中，死亡人数已升至7人，48人受伤，3名袭击者被当场击毙。英国伦敦警方逮捕了12名涉嫌参与袭击事件的嫌犯。
另据CNN报道，有极端组织“伊斯兰国”(IS)有关的媒体宣称，该组织成员为此次袭击事件负责。
但分析称，该组织并不能提供任何证据证明与此案有关。
伦敦恐袭事件发生十几个小时后，当地时间4日上午，英国首相特蕾莎·梅在唐宁街10号发表讲话。英国媒体认为，与之前相比，态度和立场都明显强硬了许多。
梅指出当前恐怖威胁的变化趋势和应对措施，并且表示恐袭不会影响英国大选活动的如期进行。

“As terrorism breeds terrorism and perpetrators are inspired to attack, not only on the basis of carefully constructed plots after years of planning and training, and not even as lone attackers radicalised online, but by copying one another and often using the crudest of means of attack.”
》做出改变
一是要挫败煽动仇恨（ preaches hatred）的极端主义思想（extremism）；
二是通过国际合作和加强监管来防范极端主义思想在网络上的传播
Reach international agreements that regulate cyberspace to prevent the spread of extremist and terrorism planning
三是加大在伊拉克和叙利亚境内对极端组织的军事打击（ taking military action to destroy ISIS in Iraq and Syria），以及在英国国内对极端主义思想的警惕和清除；
四是随着恐怖威胁变得越来越复杂、零碎和隐蔽，反恐措施也应随之升级，确保安全部门和警方有足够的力量应对挑战。
As the nature of the threat we face becomes more complex, more fragmented, more hidden, especially online, the strategy needs to keep up.
》呼吁团结
