阿萨德抵俄后首次发声：原本没打算离开叙利亚

Former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad released on Monday his first public statement since leaving Damascus on Dec 8, detailing the chaotic moments leading up to his departure for Russia.

The statement, released via the Syrian Presidency's Telegram account, addressed rumors surrounding al-Assad's departure and the collapse of his government after more than 13 years of civil conflict.

Al-Assad insisted that he did not plan the departure and remained in the capital city until the early morning hours of Dec 8, attending to his responsibilities. When militant groups entered Damascus, he coordinated with "Russian friends" to relocate to the coastal province of Latakia, aiming to continue directing military operations from there, he added.

He claimed that the idea of seeking asylum or relinquishing his post never arose before, saying his sole option had been to continue fighting.

"First, my departure from Syria was neither planned nor did it occur during the final hours of the battles, as some have claimed. On the contrary, I remained in Damascus, carrying out my duties until the earlyhours of Sunday 8 Dec 2024."

此外，阿萨德还强调，在这一过程中从未考虑过辞职或寻求庇护，也没有任何个人或政党向其提出这样的建议，他本人唯一的行动方针也是“继续与恐怖主义袭击作斗争”。

"At no point during these events did I consider stepping down or seeking refuge, nor was such a proposal made by any individual or party, The only course of action was to continue fighting against the terroris onslaught."

按照阿萨德的说法，他并不是一个放弃国家、放弃人民、放弃战斗的人，但在他抵达俄罗斯空军基地协调作战时，叙利亚政府军已从各条战线中撤出，最终使得局势不可收拾。

联合国秘书长叙利亚问题特使裴凯儒周一表示，已经与沙姆解放组织领导人朱拉尼进行了会面，并听取了有关叙利亚人民今后面临的挑战和优先事项的简报。他呼吁解除对叙利亚的国际制裁，以便加快重建进程。
