Job Profile Summary
Promote and develop China growth strategic projects, using sound strategic framework and technical knowledge to help create, test and persuasively communicate the framework for strategy and long-term plan development, focusing on the structure, contribution and composition of BP China’s portfolio to deliver the Group’s growth and energy transition objectives
Key Results/ Accountabilities expected from role
Responsible for long-term corporate strategy development, developing cohesive BP China proposition and strategic initiatives to support BP Group’s ambition to achieve net zero carbon emission by 2050.
- Develop China 2050 Outlook and BP China 2050 proposition aligned with national energy strategy and BP Group’s net zero ambition in 2050.
- Strengthen BP China business strategy development to ensure our core businesses continue to deliver the financial performance while being more effectively integrated with Group’s new sustainable ambitions
- Launch and implement BP’s new purpose, ambitions and aims to be force for good in China, develop and implement growth strategic projects for contributing to achieving China’s Net Zero by 2050 or sooner.
- Support Group Executive Office- Regions, Cities and Solutions, Group Economics, Group Competitor Intelligence, and other group functions as needed better understanding China and informing into initiatives where China plays a role.
- Lead China Integration Forum (CIF) and China-In-Market review meetings to facilitate discussion and exploration of integrated low carbon initiatives
- Benchmark competitor’s China strategy development
- Generate internal and external reports to share knowledge and insights, identifying trends and proposing potentials actions/responses to achieve business objectives.
- Respect others as equals without consideration of positions or educational background.
Experience & Expertise expected
• Graduate degree holder with undergraduate in economics, science and engineering and/or related disciplines, MBA from top University preferred
• Minimal 8 years of relevant post qualification/ after degree relevant experience
• Highly analytical and strategic, and able to deal with complex flux of information in energy transition
• Experience with strategy development and commercial initiatives that affect choices with an ability to translate strategies into actions and the timely delivery of results.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with expertise in creating trust and generating value from key relationships.
• Proven ability to influence people at all levels and challenge traditional thinking. Clear understanding of energy industry, energy transition and greater BP context of the company from both a business and strategy perspective.
• Team player, able to establish effective working relationships across teams.
• Experience in leading, managing and motivating agile team
• Master in PC skills, including Excel, PPT, and data processing
