Government control on the contents of films and TV series might be effective, but the influence on society is limited.
If the government reduces the amount of violent scenes without raising people 's awareness, potential criminals would not change their thoughts and are likely to commit violent crimes in the future. Awareness campaigns can be launched, educating people how to follow rules, what are the consequences of violating laws, an
d damages violent crimes
can cause to innocent citizens as well as people around them. Potential offenders who realize the importance of obeying laws are unlikely to commit violent crimes in the future, and they would not
copy actions from violent scenes in movies.
The effect of censorship on violent scenes may be limited because
government
does not take action to deter crimes or make punishment stricter, and criminals who are not aware of the consequences would still commit crimes. If offenders commit violent crimes, they are sent to prison and have to stay there for a longer period of time. The number of police on petrol could also be increased, so potential criminals would think twice before they commit violent crimes. The government could purchase some surveillance cameras which can act as a good deterrent. With these actions, criminals,
especially terrorists,
are less likely to commit violent crimes because they are aware of the consequences.
On the other hand, governmental control can be effective because people are less likely to commit violent crimes if they
watch less violent scenes
in movies and on TV. The government
can cut so
me violent scenes and plots, and replace them with
peaceful scenes and humorous plots
which can make people laugh. If people find
enjoyments
when watching TV, they would not use violence in their real life or even commit violent crimes when they feel stressed out. In contrast, if children are exposed to violence from a young age, they may cope how characters in the films and movies kill people, and they may do the same things in real life.
