Shane English School spreads awareness of one of China’s biggest waste and environmental problems to their students, teachers and parents by participating in Green Initiatives’ RE:FORM.
夏恩英语赞助绿色倡议推广“旧衣新生”的项目，宣导学生、老师以及家长对中国最大的环境问题之一的给予重视。
Green Initiatives launched RE:FORM in December 2016 to raise awareness on the growing textile consumption and waste issue, highlight the environmental impact of the textiles, and encourage conscious consumption. The program brings in logistics expert, Crown Relocations, and the community service organization, Community Center Shanghai as collaborators.
绿色倡议在2016年12月推出了“旧衣新生，以新的目标。“旧衣新生”的目的不仅仅是解决回收纺织品的浪费，还是提高人们对纺织品消费的认识，突出纺织品的环境影响，鼓励有意识的消费。该项目引进了物流专家、嘉柏安居咨询、社区服务组织、上海众心社区中心一起合作。

Shane English School deliberately planned their project launch on 11 November 2017 to offset consumer overconsumption that happens in China each year as part of Singles Day (11.11). on November 11, a day to “celebrate” singlehood in China, a massive amount of goods of all kinds are purchased through online shopping channels. Very few people consider the environmental consequences of such habits – many do not even have any awareness that their actions are leading to waste or other adverse environmental conditions. In 2017, $25 billion of goods were purchased within 24 hours, setting a new world record.
夏恩英语学校精心策划的项目在2017年11月11日当天推出，目的是为了抵消中国每年双十一所产生的过度消费。在中国，11月11日是“庆祝”单身的日子，出现大量的购物和过度消费，冲动购物而无顾虑到对环境所造成的影响。

For this strong reason, Shane English decided to launch RE:FORM 11.11, and they did so at their Qingpu school.The School wanted to bring to light the issue of overconsumption with their kids, parents, and the entire Shane English School community and be part of the solution. The project launched Shane English School exemplifies RE:FORM’s project goals, especially by promoting the three Rs: Reduce (buying), Reuse (as practicably possible), and Recycle (the last resort). Staff and teachers organized various“do-it-yourself (DIY)” activities to show people how to upcycle clothing and household items and students and parents were encouraged to bring unwanted clothing in to reuse & recycle through RE:FORM.
夏恩英语学校决定于 11月11日在 青浦校区启动“旧衣新生”项目。他们想和孩子们、家长们以及整个夏恩英语学校一起正视过度消费的问题，并且成为解决问题的一员。夏恩英语学校举办活动的理念充分体现了绿色倡议“旧衣新生”的项目目标，通过推广三个“Rs”：减少（购买），再次使用（尽可能实现的），回收（作为最后的选项）。工作人员和教师组织的各种“自己动手做”展示台向人们展示如何利用旧衣物再设计服装和家居用品，学生和家长也被鼓励带来自己不再需要的服装放入“旧衣新生”回收箱中。

China produces nearly 70,000 tons of textile waste per day, according to data from the China Association of Circular Economy.As per another report by Greenpeace, three-fourths of the over 80 billion pieces of clothing items produced worldwide each year end up in landfills after only a few uses! RE: FORM was launched by Green Initiatives to raise awareness on this problem, encourage conscious consumption and bring in reuse and transparent recycling processes with respect to textiles.
根据中国循环经济协会的数据，中国每天生产超过7万吨的纺织垃圾(每年约2600万吨)。根据绿色和平组织的另一份报告，每年全球生产的800亿多件衣物中，有四分之三的衣物仅被用过几次就直接被送往了填埋场！
