Call for Papers

Climate Change and Fragile Ecosystems

Climate change is one of the most severe environmental challenges faced by the world today. With rising temperatures and changes in precipitation patterns, extreme weather events are becoming increasingly frequent. Nearly all types of ecosystems are confronted with severe challenges, and their structures, functions, and distributions are undergoing unprecedented changes. These changes not only impact biodiversity and ecosystem services but also have far-reaching consequences for human society and the economy. Climate change is a phenomenon that spans different timescales, and has diverse impacts across various regions and ecosystems. The fragile ecosystems are sensitive to climate change, thus, an improved understanding of their response to climate change can provide scientific basis and solutions for addressing climate change, which is crucial for supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

To deeply understand the relationship between climate change and different ecosystems, systematically display and communicate the latest progress in related fields, we organize a special issue of "Climate Change and Fragile Ecosystems". We look forward to your contribution of the latest original and excellent results to form a high-level special issue.

We welcome contributions that address, but are not limited to, the following themes:

Background of climate variability

Influence of climate change on ecosystems

Sensitivity of ecosystems to climate change

Ecosystems resilience against the impacts of climate change

The impact of climate change on ecosystem services

We are looking forward to receiving your contributions and to witnessing the vibrant academic discourse that this special issue is sure to generate.

Notes for prospective authors
