At a young age her talent and love of music was noticed and her family sent her to formal vocal training where she studied with Cai Laiyou, a renown vocal professor from Chaozhou Hanshan Normal University. Her vigorous studies and love of music eventually lead her to the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, one of the top musical schools in China, where she studied vocal and performance. Mandy Chan has been on a constant pursuit of improvement and perfection. She studied Jazz theory from American jazz guitarist, London Mattax. She participated in master classes with the many notable artists. In 2014, she participated in an international musical training workshop. Currently, she studies jazz improvisation from French jazz educator, Benoit STASIACZYK and she studies rhythm from Italian guitarist Franceschini Gianluigi. In 2015, she participated in Keep an eye Summer Jazz Workshop which was organized by Conservatorium van Amsterdam and Manhattan School of Music. In 2014, she she won the Chinese Jazz New Generation Award at the “I LIKE I Love Jazz Universal Carnival”.
